How it started…
It’s quite possible that you will meet James, our founder, on your in-person removals survey. James started the business originally with a partner in 2019 with the intention to simplify the moving process; his background in law and estate agency provided the necessary base and skills to realise that most residential removals are an afterthought by both a solicitor (giving short periods of notice for date changes and actual confirmation of dates) and the clients, who are generally poorly advised in respect of when an actual moving date will occur.
Sadly, it’s often the case that your proposed completion date will alter, leaving you frustrated and disappointed. We cant control your solicitor’s behaviour, but we can support you through the process and act as a partner in what can be a very complicated process.
How it’s Going…
We’ve become a comprehensive removals service provider….. The removals marketplace is full of ‘Man and Van ‘- type operators. While this type of operator fulfils a useful purpose in the moving market, it does not provide a comprehensive service to clients and cannot meet all the legal requirements for transporting household goods due to the nature of transport law.
In the UK, your removals will be carried out using either a 3.5T Luton-type van or a larger vehicle ranging from a 7.5T HGV to a 26T HGV, the most common being an 18T side-loading HGV built to ease any access limitations.
Companies should only use 3.5T vehicles as ‘support’ vehicles for larger HGVs with significant payloads. If 3.5T vehicles are fully loaded, they will be overweight, resulting in potential roadside fines, delays in your goods delivery, and serious repercussions for the driver.
